Close the opening. Plan the finish. Review damaged walls, access cutouts and the surrounding paint in a free drywall repair estimate.

Show what needs closing.

A wider wall photo and a close-up of the opening help explain the repair you need. Include the approximate size, whether more than one area is affected and why the wall was opened. Tell us if plumbing or electrical work is still underway.

The repair estimate starts with an existing damaged surface. New walls or full-room board installation need a separate scope review. Any plumbing or electrical work behind an access opening must be coordinated separately.

Describe the finish around the repair.

Photograph the wall under the light in which you normally see it. Show texture, corners and any previous patches nearby. If you have the original paint label, include it with the photos and explain whether you want a repaired surface ready for paint or a larger area repainted.

Repair size and painting size are different decisions. The surrounding coating and finish affect the result, so the estimate identifies the intended painting boundary instead of promising that a small spot will disappear.

Agree when the wall is ready for repair.

Tell us whether the cause of the opening or damage has been addressed, what access other trades still need and which furniture or fixtures are close to the work. Visible staining, recurring cracks or an unresolved leak need their history explained; finishing the surface does not resolve those underlying problems.

Discuss the surrounding finish.

Include texture, existing paint and the wall or ceiling area to repaint. A small repair does not automatically mean a small touch-up will blend.

Can you repair an opening left by plumbing or electrical work?

Send its size and photos, and explain whether the other work is complete or further access is needed. The wall repair can be reviewed; plumbing and electrical services are separate from this painting and repair request.

Does this service include installing drywall throughout a new room?

This page is for repairing existing drywall surfaces. Explain a new-room or full-wall installation request separately so its scope can be checked before any work is promised.

Should I save the piece of board that was removed?

Mention any retained pieces when you send the photos. Their condition and the opening need review; keeping a piece does not determine the repair method in advance.

Is painting the wall included with patching the opening?

Tell us the result you want: preparation for paint, a painted repair area or a larger wall repaint. The estimate names the painting included, rather than assuming a patch covers the whole wall.

What if the damage came from a leak?

Explain the history and whether the source has been assessed and corrected. This service covers the agreed surface repair and finish, without promising leak detection, drying or mold treatment.
