Prepare a commercial space for its next use. Agree the surfaces, repairs, approvals and timing requirements in a free painting estimate.
Describe the next use and the current condition.
Tell us which rooms or areas are being refreshed and what they will be used for. Show the whole space and close-ups of scuffed walls, existing patches and details left by earlier fittings. List ceilings, doors and trim separately from the wall finish.
The intended appearance and the condition of the surfaces belong in the same proposal. Repainting a vacated area is not automatically a complete refurbishment or the installation of a specialist commercial coating.
Get the surface and color decisions into the proposal.
Identify who approves colors, preparation and the finish boundaries. Send any property-owner or tenant specification, and note items that should remain or be handled by another contractor. This helps separate the painting from unrelated fit-out work.
Confirm which repairs are included and whether a wall, room or wider area is to be refinished. The existing surface and selected product guide the finish discussion; the requested opening or handover date does not replace those requirements.
Explain the handover and access dependencies.
Share your preferred completion window, access arrangements and any cleaning, installation or inspection work that follows. These are planning requirements to review, not a reason to promise a fixed turnaround before seeing the scope.
Send the Grand Rapids address, area list, site photos and approval contacts for a free estimate. We discuss project conditions by phone, including how the proposed painting sequence fits the actual work and access.

Plan the space around the work.
Sanctuary portfolio views show preparation, protection and painting across adjoining interior surfaces.

Plan access and work areas.
Discuss the rooms, upper areas and entrances that affect the work. Agree the areas to be worked on and how access fits the way the space is used.
Sanctuary project: access equipment and floor protection in the work area.

Mask the adjoining finishes.
List the walls, doors and trim to paint alongside the materials that must stay. Masking follows those boundaries, including awkward junctions at ceilings and fixtures.
Masking follows the junction between the wall and the existing wood ceiling.

Review the preparation scope.
Different wall surfaces need different preparation. Review the existing finish and visible repair areas before the project schedule and coatings are agreed.

Before we start.
Planning your project in Grand Rapids? Here is what to discuss at your estimate.
Photos from INSPIRE's own project portfolio. Project locations are shown only where confirmed. Explore more of our work.
Does a tenant refresh include all fit-out work?
No. Describe the painting and repair work you want, plus tasks handled by others. The estimate should distinguish the documented services from a complete refurbishment or unrelated installation work.
What helps compare painting proposals for a vacant space?
Use the same surface list, repair areas, finish requirements and protection or access information. Comparing only a headline price can hide different preparation or painting boundaries.
Can a landlord or property manager approve the colors?
Identify the relevant approval contact and send the requirements before work is agreed. The project discussion can then use one confirmed surface and finish brief.
Can you guarantee a fixed reopening date from photos alone?
No fixed turnaround is assumed. Send the timing requirement, access and other work involved so the proposed sequence can be reviewed with the surfaces and coating requirements.
Should follow-up cleaning and equipment installation be mentioned?
Yes. Explain those dependencies and who handles them. The painting sequence and later use need to be discussed with the actual project and product-specific handling instructions.
